Services and Rates
Developmental Edit: $.05 per word
Will focus on big-picture issues such as plot, character development, scenes, dialogue, and worldbuilding. Each manuscript will receive one pass, a detailed feedback report, and in-text comments. Service also includes line editing and light copyediting. Suggestions will be in-text and part of the overall feedback. Please keep in mind, it is still recommended to have a copyedit and proofread at a later stage in the publishing process.
Line Edit: $.04 per word
Line editing will ensure that each individual sentence maintains the flow of the whole
manuscript. Some things I will look out for include grammatical errors, readability,
organization, style, run-on sentences, overused words and phrases, tense switching,
among other issues. This will take the form of rewriting, cutting, or moving words around
within the text. Service will also include light copyediting.
Copyedit: $.03 per word
A copyedit will entail identifying spelling, grammar, punctuation, and capitalization errors. I will also look for any overused words or phrases that were missed in any previous edits.
Proofread: $.02 per word
This is the last step before publishing your manuscript. This service is designed to find any last-ditch errors such as spelling, grammar and punctuation that were missed in previous rounds of edits.
Rates are based on the low end of the Editorial Freelancers Association guidelines. I believe editing should be affordable. Please reach out about package pricing. Payment plans accepted.
All authors will receive a detailed contract outlining services and delivery.
All work will be done following CMOS unless otherwise stipulated by the author.
Manuscripts can be edited in Microsoft Word with track changes (preferred) or Google Docs.
